The Challenge
The Client required a facility audit of a number of their UK locations in order for them to form a representative view of the value and service of the Facilities Management operation in the UK .The sites included office, research and manufacturing facilities.
The Solution
The scope of the audit extended into:
- All areas customarily regarded as Facilities Management.
- Interviews with Facilities Management staff, representatives of the current service providers and the internal “customers” for FM services.
- A review of the organisational issues and methods of contracting the facility services.
The Outputs
The audit delivered the following key outputs:
- An appraisal of the scope of the facility management services being delivered.
- A cost and performance evaluation of the existing facility management services.
- An audit of the maintenance management system.
- An organisational review which evaluated the structure and resources.
- A examination of the internal and external interaction of the Facility Management organisation.
- A review of the contractual arrangements between the Client and current supplier.
The Value and benefit to the Client
The audit enabled the Client to reduce their internal Facility Management involvement and re-negotiate a new contract with the supplier.
